Car Rental Colorado Springs and Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center

If you've ever camped in the Colorado wilderness, you'll recognize the mournful howl of a wolf or the excite yip of a coyote. These sounds are simply a part of the state's natural makeup. Unfortunately, these beautiful animals aren't always welcome in the area's every expanding residential areas. That's why the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center sprang into existence back in 1993. Covering nearly 35 acres, this sanctuary is a permanent home to 17 wolves, two coyotes and nine foxes. These animals have either been rescued from the wild, or surrendered to the center. While the CWWC started out as a rescue facility, it now functions as an educational center, providing car rental Colorado Springs travelers with information on the dangers faced by Colorado wolves.

Raising awareness

Customers of Affiliated Car Rental Colorado Springs are introduced to three important educational messages when they visit the CWWC, 1) that wolves and dogs should not be bred to create pets, 2) wolves, coyotes, and foxes face multiple threats in the wild, most prominently the loss of habitat and 3) killing wolves, coyotes, and foxes for their fur is inhuman and should be made illegal. Over the years, the CWWC has gained worldwide recognition, reaching nearly 20,000 people annually. CWWC currently provides some the largest enclosures in the U.S. per two animal ratios, complete with lush aspen groves, large rock formations and shady pine trees. Customers of Affiliated Car Rental Colorado Springs should also know that all of the enclosures at the CWWC are above and beyond the requirements of USDA and DOW.

CWWC tours: Understanding wolves

Tours last between 60 and 75 minutes and guarantee an up-close look of these majestic creatures. Tours are offered for a nominal fee of $10 per adult and $7 per children. CWWC is a non-profit charity, and your tour admission provides the center with important financial help.
